The Oxford Guild and the Oxford India Society are delighted to host a special panel dialogue event: ‘Breaking Divides in a fractured world’. This high profile event will feature three renowned panelists:
Lord John Alderdice, is the director of the Centre for the Resolution of Intractable Conflict at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford. Served as the leader of the Alliance party of Northern Ireland participating in the negotiation of the 1998 Good Friday Agreement. Also is a Liberal Democrat life member of the House of Lords.
HH Radhanath Swami, has been a practicing monk for almost 50 years. He is an accomplished speaker and author which includes the New York Bestseller ‘The Journey Within’. He is the inspiration behind ‘Midday Meals’ which serves 260,000 plates of food to children in the slums of Mumbai. He has also established hospitals, eye camps, eco-friendly farms, schools, orphanages, and ashrams and emergency relief programs throughout India.
Ambassador Dinesh Patnaik (TBC), is the current Deputy High Commissioner of India in the UK since 2016. He is a career diplomat of the India Foreign Service for over 25 years, serving in highly placed positions in locations such as Dhaka, China, Vienna and Morocco. Between 2007-2009 he served as the UNES Director/Joint secretary, overseeing works relating to the UN.
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions after the dialogue.
