Bird’s fascinating life experience – he was homeless at the age of 5, grew up in an orphanage and also went to prison – will serve as a backdrop for an insightful talk about the gap between rich and poor. The Big Issue Foundation has provided services and referral to address issues around housing, health, finances, education, employment and personal aspirations, helping vendors to regain their independence and turn a livelihood into a life.
Bird will also talk about his book “Necessity of poverty”, and his upcoming new title, “Necessity of privilege”. Be there early, as he will be distributing copies!
